This is a course for the novice glass artist. If you have ever thought of trying glassblowing this is the course for you. In this 3 hour course you will gain a basic understanding of how glass moves. Learning the techniques of basic beads and trapping a glass mushroom in a teardrop pendant, you will have the knowledge to move onto more complicated projects.

Prerequisite: Intro 1 or equivalent

In this continuation of the Intro to Lampworking series you will build off of the skills learned to complete more complicated objects. We will explore color application while expanding on the teardrop pendant. Freeform marbles will also be demonstrated and practiced in this 3 hour course.

Intro to Glassworking 3

Prerequisite: Intro 2 or equivalent

Let's spend another 3 hours together, and really dive into marbles. Learning about both inside and outside color applications, we will start using marble molds to create precise spherical forms. This will also introduce the use of hollow glass. Blow out small bubbles of hot glass and watch in amazement what will follow.

Prerequisite: Intro 3 or equivalent

In this final instalment of the introduction series you will leave whit the knowledge and confidence needed to blow glass, not to mention a certificate from us that allows you to rent studio time and work on your own. You will use the techniques from the previous courses to explore decorative window ornaments and the sculptural aspects of glass.

Building on a single skill can be quite beneficial in the development of a glassblowing career. Spend 4 hours one on one with a resident instructor working on a technique that interests you. Be it wrap and rake, inside out, murini building and application, or compression flower marbles the knowledge is here.
